Last Tuesday (3rd February) the Friends of Avery Hill Park were able to meet with some of the key staff from the University to discuss the concerns that we and local people have raised since the announcement of their intention to sell the Mansion Site at Avery Hill. Some of those concerns were raised by you commenting on our Facebook page Save Avery Hill Winter Gardens.
The University met with us and agreed that we could invite a very limited number of local representatives to raise questions at the meeting. They were not willing to engage with a public meeting until the Mansion Site had been formally placed on the market. Consequently, we expect to be able to announce a public meeting in the very near future. Until then, here are a few important points that came out of that meeting:
All parks have a great history, created as public open, green spaces by visionary men and women for the people to enjoy.
